JOIN THE TEAM

We’re recruiting more volunteers to help out on our management committee
to help with the running of the group and to enable us to expand
our range of activities and social spaces.

If you’d like to be more involved in the trans community, learn new skills
and meet new people then this is a great opportunity to do so!

We’re really excited to get some fresh faces involved with new perspectives

and ideas on how we can run things.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities for all volunteers will be helping us to organise and run our events. The key tasks are:

  • Helping out at our events - for in-person events this could involve being a point of contact when people arrive, signing people in/taking payments where needed, answering questions and making sure everyone knows where to go and what to do

  • Engaging with attendees at our events, making people feel welcome and included

  • Attending a monthly (online) meeting to plan the next month’s activities

  • Acting on action points from the meeting that you've agreed to take on

SPECIFIC ROLES

We’re also looking to add some additional roles to our committee. This would be ideal for someone who would like to help out with the group and either has or wants to gain experience in these areas:

  • Promotion and engagement - helping with posting and interacting on our social media pages, engaging and making links with other community groups

  • Social secretary - helping to organise and run social events (both online and in-person)

  • Equality, diversity & inclusion - helping to ensure our events are accessible to and inclusive of a wide range of people and communities

BENEFITS

In return for your time and skills you will benefit from:

  • Learning new skills and developing existing ones

  • Taking on new challenges and gaining confidence

  • Meeting new people

  • Being involved in the trans and wider LGBTQ+ community

  • Helping to make a difference to trans and non-binary people

We have a budget to provide training, which could include specific skills such as first aid, walk leadership, outdoor skills etc. We can also pay for things like DBS checks and provide expenses where required.

You’ll also be able to have more direct influence over which activities we do and of course you get to benefit from our events as participants as well!

HOW TO APPLY

Please register your interest using this form by 10pm on Sunday 27th June.

After reviewing the applications we’ll hold an online meeting with the successful applicants to finalise everyone’s roles and let you know how it all works. This is also a good opportunity for you to ask questions or tell us about any suggestions you have for the running of the group.

We particularly encourage applications from people of colour and AMAB trans people as they are currently under-represented on our committee.

If you have any access needs or would like any further information about volunteering with us before applying, do get in touch via email or Facebook message.
